JD SALINGER

I think JD Salinger's work should be published because it could effect the Am. Lit. society in a good way for many years. just look how many people have read the Catcher in the Rye, it's a classic. there could be many more of those just sitting inside his house waiting to be shown to everybody. i understand he did not want his work to be published but he is dead so he wouldn't know if it were.

  1. i don't quite agree sir... its not their work to publish, just because he's dead doesn't mean that we have the rights to publish his work. i do agree with the fact that it would change the american liturature though.

  2. I agree that there could be a master piece just sitting in his house waiting to be published. However, it was his writing and if he intended for it to be published I think he would have seen it through. Maybe he left it in his will to have some of his stories published. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

  3. Good stuff here Wamp, but Neal has a point too. THere MAY be the next Catcher, in a vault somewhere, but there might be a pile of literary poo as well. I guess no one will know until all his materials are taken and edited and assess. Did he want that? or was he just uncomfortable with the celebrity that came with being a published writer? That is the question.
